do you want this in an admin function or in normal user mode?
If we want it in normal user mode, than we need a many to many relationship.
If we want it in admin, then we need to come up with a nice workflow for adding people who are not connected. For that I think that clicking on a unassociated author feed brings up any of the other ones like it and you can associate with all or some of that.

Right now I think this should be an admin function. Later when people can log in they should be able to claim authors that haven't been claimed.
